Well, I had a meeting with the "team" at Magee. The team agrees that Mr. Steve is not as strong as he needs to be to reach his potential at Magee. He still has the pain issue in his shoulder, hip, and left leg. After much discussion we decided that it would be in Mr. Steve's best interest to move to a sub-acute facility in NJ. Please pray that God will direct us to the place where he will get the best medical care and receive a fair amount of therapy. I have visited one in the area and they have a 3 hour program a day.
At the sub-acute facility they would be able to sent him out to have the sleep study. They would be able to allow him to get the rest his body needs to heal. He is a very slow healer.
We could probably have the hip/shoulder x-rayed as well.
They assured me that they would check out the equipment the facility has so that he would have the ability to use the same type of equipment. Also they would pass on the information about the current wheelchair so that he will not have to go through the entire process of adjustment again.
Tomorrow morning Mr. Steve will travel to Methodist Hospital again for a CT scan. This scan will show us how much more the blood has dissipated. We know it has gone down but it would be good to find out really how much. More information about the AVM is to come this week.
With having him close will give more people the opportunity to visit him. This will bring him encouragement and hopefully the drive to keep on "pressing on" to a full recovery. His left leg has moved and so has his left arm - so we are hoping this is a good sign.
We are hoping that Mr. Steve could have a special visit from his furry friend, Daisy! There are places outside that we could have them meet. That would surely get him smiling! That will be our big surprise! Someday!
Serving our Lord continually,
Janice

Janice & kids,
Doug and I are constantly praying for Steve..and for you. As you may or may not know, the day after Steve was taken to the hospital I was in a car accident on Rt 70 at Marlkress. As they were strapping me to the backboard, I was shaking, crying and hurting, but the Lord brought Steve to my mind, so I started praying for him. The bumpy uncomfortable trip to Virtua in the ambulance, Steve was constantly on my mind, so I prayed for him. I had blacked out upon impact, so once I got to Virtua they did a CTScan on my neck and head...and yep, as they were scanning my head, it was such a reminder to be praying for Steve. My injuries are minimal compared with Steve's, but I thank the Lord for using mine as reminders to pray for Steve. And 8 weeks later...the reminders continue. I have short-term memory loss (failed the neurologist's test on Friday!); I have a headache 24/7; lots of soft tissue damage in my neck; and a messed up left shoulder (same side as Steve) that is in constant pain; although I do realize that the hand at the end of my arm is mine! :) I know what a long recovery I have ahead of me...and know that Steve's road is so much longer. But we're both recovering...and for that I'm rejoicing!!! and since I can't remember much these days, I'm grateful for God's (painful) reminders to pray for someone as special as Steve and focus on someone other than myself.
Hangeth thou in there!!
love ya! Tria
What a wonderful blessing to have a case worker!!!!We had to figure it all out on our own. It will be so nice to have Steve closer. It feels like baby steps sometimes but hey, they get you to where you're going. love, love, love - linda
Thank You Lord God for the example of these wonderful people. For their willingness to put it all here for us to see you working in in their life struggle. May you continue to empower them by your grace- the resurrection power of Jesus Christ- at work in them that they will have all sufficiency in all things, to abound to every good work. You know what all they have need of from physical strength to heavenly wisdom and have already provided an abundant supply of all. You are ordering their steps as they remember that if they trust you with all their hearts and lean not unto their understanding but acknowledge you in all their ways, you will direct their path. Let them see your glory, just as Mary, Martha and Lazurus saw your glory. Let the love you had for Jesus be in them and he in them. Make yourself the strength of their lives and let them have a deep, God-rooted confidence and rest in you. In Jesus' name, for your names sake I ask, for your glory, honor and praise. Amen. Mrs. Steve, please tell Mr. Steve that God is going before him. Love you guys.
