There is so much going on everyday. I'm waiting for "dull and boring."
We are planning ahead and Tuesday I meet with gentlemen to discuss the ramp situation. Steve will be coming home with a wheelchair and a large wheelchair at that sooooo we will need a ramp built. Because of the doorway sizes - it will have to be in the front of the house - glug. All this needs to be constructed by Gibbsboro's building code. A new adventure!!
Steve was sleeping when I left. He didn't even move when I was praying with him. The word from the staff was that he was calmer today. Thanks for praying. He was up all night last night. He was all riled up. Calling out to Tracy his nurse to take him home with her when she left. She was sad to leave him that way. The doctor decided to put him on a neurological drug that works on the chemicals in his brain. This is NOT habit forming. And is a very low dose. This will help him cope with what is going on in his mind. I asked him specifically what he was feeling at night. He said he would see himself in a car accident and couldn't stop it. These kinds of events happen in brain injury people. So he is not abnormal and this is good. I know everyone on the night shift will be glad that he will have a good night's sleep tonight. I did ask Tracy to spot check his pulse oxygen level before she left and she said she would. Also she will ask the night shift to do the same. I just didn't want him too sleepy to forget to breathe with his sleep apnea.
Enjoy your long weekend!

Praying good sleep for all of you.
Thanks for the updates. I know how after a long day in the hospital it is hard to start to put into words what is happening, but thanks. We can pray for Steve and all of you more specifically. Besides during the day, Zach and I pray for Mr Steve before we go to bed. Trusting only in God for new miracles (small ones) each day. You are all loved.
Love,
Jan for all the Weltes
Father, please forgive us and hear our prayers for your names sake who died for us. I'm asking you to have mercy on the Deichert's, on all of them. Open their eyes to your mercy in this situation. Not only your mercy, but your love as well. You are the only one who can meet all of their needs, each one in their own place. Let your Holy Spirit minister to each of them, please, the way you have to me over the years in the especially hard places. Like You did for Hagar and Ishmeel in the wilderness. Like you did for Paul in prison. Like you have all down through history for those whom you have called to suffer for your name sake. But especially intervene in Steve's world right where he is right now Lord. You are aware of what his mind is going through Lord. Glorify yourself even in this. Even in this. Father, I wish for Mr. Steve to be back the way he was. I wish for my friend back. I want you to take his pain away and make him normal again. I can't fix Mr. Steve. Or Mrs. Steve. or Kimberly or Kevin. They need you to be God of their very life right now, Lord. Walk into his room tonight and talk to him- let him hear you talking and see you standing there. Thank you Lord Jesus. Thank you for hearing us, for answering according to your will. In Jesus' name I pray and ask for all these things.- Laura M.
